Island Arts Council Education Program

Island Arts Council is offering two types of workshops that benefit our community, local artists, and our members.

Creative Workshops are conducted by our member artists, many of whom are award winning artists and experience instructors. The affordable workshops are available for the general public. We will post them as they become available.

Educational Workshops are designed for artists to expand their skills and knowledge in business, marketing, and sales. These will be conducted by professionals who have knowledge of the creative industry and markets. Fees for these workshops will vary by topic.

Island Art Council Members will have a discounted fee, receive early notice of the upcoming workshops, and will be given priority when space is limited.

Call for Artists - Island Arts Council

Our Workshop Committee lead by Della Marshall is ready to begin scheduling Creative Workshops! These are workshops where YOU teach, such as painting, beading, etc and WE help.

How it works:

You contact Della to let her know the type of art you want to teach, how much your instructor fee will be and how many students you want
The team will meet with you to work out the details for space, expenses for the workshop , materials, your fee and location for the class
The team will do the Marketing and Recruiting for participants.
The team will secure a classroom
The team will collect fees. The fees will go towards workshop expenses (classroom rent, marketing, etc) and your fee.

This is a good time to hold these creative workshops because it’s cold and people want something to do while its quiet after the holidays and before the spring crazies start.
