Island Arts Council is bringing two new venues throughout the island to provide more opportunities for our local artists and support our businesses.
Popup Galleries are small surprise events held with local businesses. We work with businesses to host "mini art festivals" in their shops, bars, restaurants, and more. These fun surprise venues attract not only people who live here, but also visitors and people across the region.
Rotating Exhibitions are mainly for "wall exhibitions" that are held with local businesses. These exhibits are 3 to 4 weeks where artists can show and sell their artwork.
These events bring the art-loving public to our local businesses, enables artists an affordable way to reach customers, and are a service to our members and local artists.
It's a Win Win Win!
Our team works with business owners to identify the best space for artist tables and determine the type of art they would like to have available. We handle the logistics so you can focus on your business.
We hold the Call for Artists, collect applications and fees, work with you to select the artists for the event, handle the marketing.
These events bring in many new potential customers, as well as, shows that you support local art and artists.
Popup Galleries are available for all artists to participate so long as they meet the event’s Call for Artist specifications. Some galleries may have themes or specific mediums, which will be described in the Call for Artist.
How Spaces are Filled:
Members of the Island Arts Council are given priority for spaces at the events. Available spaces are then given to Non-member artists on a “First Come” basis based on the date of their application.
An acceptance letter with link to pay event fee will be sent to selected artists.
Members of the Island Arts Council will receive an Early Call to Artist and discounted fee.
